Hello! – and welcome to Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium, a centre for contemporary art in the old cellulose factory which was active in Vestfossen from 1886 to 1970.

Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium was established by artist Morten Viskum and opened its doors to the public in 2003. Today the centre is organized as a foundation with Viskum as Director and financial support from the Municipality of Øvre Eiker, Buskerud County Council, and the Ministry of Culture.

At present we have an annual summer programme from May to October. In the near future, however, we hope to expand our activity and have exhibitions all year round.

The exhibitions are spread through four galleries on different floors. The summer exhibition from May to October fills four whole floors of the main building from the cellar to the second floor – over 1000 sq. metres.

Galleri Star, the Project Room, and the Exhibition Hall are located on our new floor that opened to the public in 2013. Here there are also teaching, conference, and office facilities. This top floor is also the exhibition space we hope to open in our all-year programme.

Enjoy your visit!
