Events in 2015

The season is soon to get under way at Vestfossen – Saturday, 2 May at 13:30 we will throw open the doors on new exhibitions in the old productions halls of Vestfos Cellulosefabrik (1886–1970). For 2015 we have put together an exciting programme of exhibitions, including our main event, Tech 4 Change, showing works from Statoil’s collection. In the Exhibition Hall we will be showing the art education exhibition Hele verden er bilder! (A Whole World of Pictures!) – works made by schoolchildren who have visited us in 2014. At Galleri Star we are presenting works of the British artist Rose Wylie (1934/UK) and in the Project Room Kamilla Skrinde (1979/NO) will be further developing her project folly for to need to seem to glimpse what where – visitors can follow its progress throughout the season. So the 2015 programme consists of four very stimulating and highly different projects which we are sure our visitors will consider well worth the visit – in addition to the lovely day out in the countryside, of course!

Every Sunday we will be arranging guided tours at 13:00 and 15:00 (included in the ticket). It is also possible to arrange a private guided tour at any time during the season with one of the Kunstlaboratorium’s proficient guides.

The characterful Café Cellulose is situated in the entrance hall to Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium – an oasis one catches glimpses of as one navigates the 2500 square meters of the building complex. The café composes its own lunch courses, serves locally produced cakes and is fully licensed. The café can also be hired for events – together with a guided tour of the exhibition it makes the Kunstlaboratoriet the ideal venue for special events, both professional and private. The Kunstlaboratorium also has a conference room for hire (75 persons seated) – ideal for firms looking for an alternative conference facility outside of the workplace. During the summer season we will also be hosting curator talks, educational events, our summer course Kunst på Landet! (Art in the Country!) and showing school classes of every year around the exhibition as part of the national programme Den kulturelle skolesekken (The Cultural Rucksack). Do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you need more information about our 2015 season. We will also be posting news of events on our Facebook page and webpage.
